The Future of Financial Crime Compliance: How AI Is Changing BSA Programs, Skills, and Staffing
Artificial intelligence is transforming financial crime compliance—but perhaps not in the way most institutions expect. While AI is increasingly automating alert reviews, investigations, and documentation, financial crime itself is becoming more sophisticated through AI-enabled fraud, digital assets, real-time payments, and increasingly complex criminal networks. The result is a fundamental shift in the work performed by BSA and compliance professionals.
This session introduces The Expertise Paradox™: as AI automates routine investigative work, specialized human expertise becomes more valuable—not less. Attendees will learn where AI is delivering measurable value today, which skills will become increasingly important, and how institutions can combine AI-enabled operations with specialized expertise to improve effectiveness without dramatically expanding headcount. Participants will leave with a practical framework and actionable ideas for preparing themselves and their institutions for the next generation of financial crime threats
